BANCO PICHINCHA OPENS FUND WITH AN INITIAL CONTRIBUTION OF 10 MILLION TO FACE SANITARY EMERGENCY

Banco Pichincha opens fund with an initial contribution of USD 10 million to face sanitary emergency in Ecuador.


The Directory of Banco Pichincha met last Wednesday march 27th, it approved an initial donation for 10 million dollars to buy medical supplies that contribute to stop the expansion of Coronavirus, and to protect people that offer their services at healthcare institutions.

These supplies will be distributed to national and provincial entities through the Ministry of Public Health. It includes: test for detection of COVID-19, respirators, masks, safety suits, safety glasses, gloves, medicines, etc.

These resources will be canalized through a Trust to guarantee their good use and, besides the bank’s control, we have invited representative of recognized Universities of the country, for the supervision of the purchase process and the supplies distributions.

Superior Education Centers that were called are: Pontifica Universidad Católica del Ecuador, Escuela Politécnica del Litoral, Universidad del Azuay, Universidad Católica Santiago de Guayaquil, Universidad San Francisco de Quito, Universidad de las Ámericas, Universidad Espiritu Santo, Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja.

Banco Pichincha makes a call for companies, sectors, and natural people to add up to this, and to other organized initiatives, so they can all contribute to overcome this sanitary crisis that the country lives. For this, the Bank will do the arrangements that allow to get a significant increase of this Fund, and it will open an account that will collect complementary economic donations.

As part of the transparency of the donation management, the Fiduciary will issue periodic reports of the resources management, where it will inform the complied actions, and it will include the names of the donors.

Banco Pichincha ratifies the compromise with the whole Ecuadorian society, and, before the delicate situation, it reaffirms its values and caring principles in favor of those who need it the most.
