The EcuaAssist Team




One of the most important things to consider when applying for a visa in Ecuador is that you meet the requirements for a “lawful livelihood.” Simply put, this is proof that you have the means to support yourself and ensures you will not become a financial burden to the country. When becoming a resident it is essential that each applicant have enough money to cover living expenses, personal expenses, and to pay taxes.


The Ministry of Foreign affairs published a document explaining the lawful livelihoods accepted for all temporary visas categories. They consist of the following:
