What does Ecuadorian education level registration mean?

Your level of education is recorded on your cedula. Once you have provided us with the proper paperwork, certifying your high school or university degree, we will make sure this information is properly recorded on your cedula.  Many, but not all major universities are recognized by Ecuador, which has a list of accredited schools of which we an provide a list.  If this process is not completed, your cedula will indicate that you do not have a formal education which can be problematic down the road including when applying for a drivers license.
