Ecuador implemented an automatic system of immigration control (Airports)

A new Ecuadorian immigration system has been placed beginning September 17th 2016 at the points of entry and exit of the country.
What do this means?
The citizens who enter or leave the country must present their passport or identity card (cedula) at the immigration counters and the digital reader will validate the information.
Additionally, the system performs the automatic calculation of days of permanence for non residents; this will simplify the procedures as cancellations of travel and extensions, as will now be automatic.
