SALVOCONDUCTO COVID-19 DO´S & DONT´S (April 2020 UPDATE)

PEOPLE WHO DO NEED A SALVOCONDUCTO

Salvoconducto will be required for mobilization during curfew hours for those vehicles restricted to circulate according to regulations based on the last digit of the license plate, in the following cases:

1.- Medical appointments

2.- People working in the related food production and supply chain (agriculture, livestock, fisheries, and aquaculture);

3.- People working in the production and distribution of medicines and medical supplies;

4.- People who work in the production and distribution of cleaning and hygiene supplies.

5.- People who work in the tourism sector

6.- Foreigners who move within the country, on their way to take humanitarian flights (leaving Ecuador)

VEHICLES THAT DO NEED TO CARRY SALVOCONDUCTO

1.- Vehicles transporting raw materials, supplies, and services for national food production and it´s staff.

2.- Vehicles for distribution and commercialization of supplies, raw materials, packaging and services for companies that produce cleaning and hygiene supplies and company´s employees.

3.- Vehicles for distribution and commercialization of supplies, raw materials, packaging and services for the production of medicines and medical supplies and it´s staff.

4.- Vehicles designated by the embassies and consular bodies accredited in Ecuador for the humanitarian transport of foreign citizens.

Specific Guidelines for Salvoconductos:

The taxi service will be regulated by the hours of the curfew hours. There is not

authorization for taxis during curfew hours and days when there is a restriction

vehicular.

For those business` vehicles which activities are required the obtaining of a Salvoconducto, it is possible to have registered up to three drivers per vehicle.

About the expiration of the SALVOCONDUCTOS.- In the case of Salvoconductos related to the activities allowed to continue during the emergency, these should be obtain only once during the time of the emergency last or until a different resolution of the COE. On the other hand, Salvoconductos for medical medical appointments or emergencies, its duration will be one day.

The form to file for a SALVOCONDUCTO, is available on the page www.gob.ec,

The form has two options: natural person (cédula) and, for a legal entity (RUC).

The granting process of a SALVOCONDUCTO is an automatic process that does not require the manual approval, as it is a self-declaratory procedure. The applicant is responsible to submit accurate information.
