1. What types of residency visas are available in Ecuador? Temporary: Retirement, Investment, Professional, Rentista (passive income), Dependent (family-based). Permanent: After 21 months of temporary residency or through marriage to an Ecuadorian citizen or permanent resident.

2. How long is a temporary residency visa valid? Temporary visas are valid for 2 years and are renewable.

3. When can I apply for permanent residency? After 21 consecutive months on a temporary visa, as long as you haven’t been outside Ecuador for more than 90 days total. Or immediately if married to an Ecuadorian citizen, opermanent resident, or have an Ecuadorian child

4. Can I work in Ecuador with a residency visa? Yes, all residency visas allow you to work legally in Ecuador. Except the pensionado visa
